ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Orange CA where I currently live. I was raised up in Lutheran schools and I am currently finishing up at Orange Lutheran High School. I am the second eldest of five boys, where my older brother is off at college, and my younger three brothers are still making their way through K-8th. When I first began building my business, my dad would be there to help me and give me advice, but he would always let me think things over for myself to see if it was what I was passionate about. My parents always tell me that I should do whatever makes me happy, and that they would support me in whatever it is. It is because of my parents’ hard work, that I am given many opportunities and I selfishly wish I could take advantage of every single one.

I discovered my passion for Aerial Photography in middle school. We were assigned a project in our media class to create a commercial for the school. I wanted to attach my action camera to a drone to try and get an aerial shot of the school. Next thing I knew I was unboxing a new DJI Phantom and registering my business name at the County Clerk’s Office. I love aviation and photography, so being an Aerial Photographer is one of my greatest joys.

I always thought that I got my business sense from my dad, and I still think that way today. On Saturdays when no one was in the office, he would be working away because work was not done until work was done. I would often come to the office and help him with things like assembling new chairs that would come in, cleaning up someone’s workspace, or just move big heavy stacks of printer paper from one room to another. One day I had finished the work he had for me quicker than he expected so he gave me a video to watch. He told me that he made his employees watch this video when they were hired. The video was a speech from a man named Art Williams, and he gave a speech about how to win in business. The thing that I kept from this video, and the thing that I keep going back to, is whatever you want to do, just do it. No matter how hard, scary, intimidating, painful, or exciting that thing that you want to do is, just do it, and do it, and do it.

I am very blessed to be able to own my own company and the special experiences like these will be with me forever.

This really became a motto for me when my dad took me to a Real Estate convention where he was advertising on behalf of his branch, and he gave me the last one-foot of his display table so that I could sit there with my drone and a stack of business cards. Well, what I was not expecting was the host of the entire event to come to me and ask if I wanted to stand up in front of hundreds of Real Estate Agents at the age of thirteen and be interviewed about what I do. I was standing there and my dad said that it was up to me if I wanted to do it or not. I knew that I wanted to, but I was insanely nervous. Then I looked back and remembered that speech. I looked at my dad and said “Just do it”, and I went up and spoke in front of all of them and I am so happy that I did.

Some of my aerial work includes aerial photography for my High School and Middle School, Weddings, Special Events, and Realtors in the Orange County Area. I have become very well known at my school by the staff and administration for my aerial photography and I am now the go-to-guy for whenever they need some aerial photos. Recently Orange Lutheran installed solar panels on their roof and they had me take pictures of them so that they could map them out. Also, the video team at Orange Lutheran has hired me for various projects in and outside of the school. Other work I have done is photography for the Real Estate industry, where realtors are looking for an edge on their competition with unique views.

I always enjoy receiving great reviews like the letters of recommendations that I have received from well respected people. The CEO of Orange Lutheran, Todd Moritz, had this to say, “Sam is an outstanding student at Orange Lutheran. Sam has learned how to work hard, be tenacious in his wishes and desires – all while being respectful.” And one of my big role models at my school, Rick Young, the Honors Biology and CAD teacher had this to say, “Sam is, without doubt, one of the most intelligent and mechanically astute students I have ever had. Sam has a rare gift of intelligence paired with insight and common sense that serves him to problem solve. Sam is gifted both in the ability to perform technical tasks and specifically to think outside the box and apply his powerful creativity.”

Some of the quotes I love are, “Think of everybody you talk to as having a flashing sign on their chest saying: Make me feel special!”, “All you can do is all you can do, and all you can do is enough”, “Just do it” – Art Williams, “There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he does not mind who gets the credit.” – Ronald Wilson Reagan, Meaningful bible verse is Psalms 19:1, “The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the works of His hands.”
